BERNARD E. WEBB

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – Bernard E. Webb, 86, husband of the late Constance E. “Connie” (Hughes) Webb, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon January 3, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born April 7, 1934 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Daniel J. and Ethel M. (Lovley) Webb. He attended Fort Fairfield schools and was married to Constance E. “Connie” Hughes on February 4, 1956. Bernard served in the United States Army from November 1956 to November 1958, and returned to Fort Fairfield to pursue one of his greatest loves, potato farming. Bernard farmed both seed and table-stock potatoes until the age of 83, and was one of the last farmers to employ a hand picking crew. He was known for his hard working ethic, and enjoyed country rides and visiting with everyone he met. He dearly loved his family and held a special place in his heart for his Amish friends. In addition to his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his wife Connie on July 1, 2013; two brothers, Roy D. and Ronald J. Webb; one sister, Mary Louise Webb. He is survived by two sons, Travis Webb of Bangor, Blair Webb of Presque Isle; four daughters, Bridget Webb Cyr of Fort Fairfield, Dedra Webb and her wife Evonne Allerkamp of San Antonio, TX, Heidi Potvin and her husband Chris of Fort Fairfield, Darcy Webb of Caribou; three sisters, Anna Lee Webb, Jacqueline Tomlinson, Delores Tracy, all of Fort Fairfield; eight grandchildren, Brayden McDougall of Ashland, Chelsey Webb of Fort Fairfield, Angelina Carriero of Washburn, Mitchell Carriero of Mars Hill, Shey-Leigh Carriero of Presque Isle, Carson and Cayden Potvin, both of Fort Fairfield, Marcus Spear of San Antiono, TX; several great grandchildren, including Kloe Demerchant of Presque Isle who Bernard loved spending time with; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment with military honors will follow at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
