ROBERT W. WALKER

Fort Fairfield – Robert W. Walker, 74, husband of Rose Anne (Dubois) Walker, passed away Wednesday morning October 9, 2019 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following a period of declining health. He was born February 14, 1945 in Allagash, the son of Charles A. and Minnie F. (Hafford) Walker. He attended Allagash and Fort Fairfield schools and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, stationed in Germany and Korea. He was married to Rose Anne Dubois on February 15, 1969, owned and operated Bob’s Redemption and Video in Fort Fairfield, and later worked for McGillan Inc. as a truck driver. Robert was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and was a life member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan and collector. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was predeceased by one brother, Charles R. Walker; two sisters, Rose G. Thompson and Jeweline Bonnell. He is survived by his wife, Rose of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, McClaren E. and Joni Walker of Florida; three sisters Verna M. McBreairty of Fort Fairfield, Katherine Dubois and her husband George of St. Francis, Alberta D. “Dee” Babin of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and two furry friends, Bandit and Bridgett. Friends called Sunday October 13, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday October 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held after the Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall Council No. 1753, 260 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment with military honors took place Tuesday October 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou.
