ELLA DAVIS WALKER

Fort Fairfield – Ella Davis Walker, 95, wife of the late Joseph E. Walker, passed away Sunday morning, September 8, 2019 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a period of declining health. She was born September 9, 1923 in North Perry, the daughter of Willard E. and Cora (Rufus) Davis. She was a graduate of the Eastport High School and following graduation became employed in a clerical position at the Pentagon during World War II. She later worked at the Princeton Club in New York City and married Joseph E. Walker on February 25, 1946. Ella later became employed by the United States Civil Service at Loring Air Force Base as assistant budget officer and retired as the base budget officer after thirty years of dedicated service. In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her husband Joseph; one brother, Paul Davis; one sister, Eva Davis; one sister-in-law, Annie Davis. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Willard and Charlene Walker of Winslow, George and Starr Walker of Garland, TX; three grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Monica Walker of Longmeadow, MA, Rebecca and Dan Rolland of Westfield, MA, Amy Curtis of Garland, TX; three great grandchildren, Mitchell, Isabelle and Ethan; numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ella’s life was conducted Saturday September 21, 2019 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post no. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment took place at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Avenue, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Walker to the charity or organization of one’s choice.
