GLENDA (MONSON) FRANK

BANGOR, Maine - Glenda Marie (Monson) Frank, 77, from Bangor, Maine, died of natural causes after a long illness, Friday, May 3, 2019 in South Portland, Maine, with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents Ray and Marjorie Monson and her brother Wendell Monson.  Glenda was born on January 26, 1942 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, where she was raised on the family farm. She spoke of those dear memories often. There were several places she called home during her lifetime. Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, and Minnesota. She also traveled the world in her dreams.  Everyone who knew Glenda would agree that she was the most loving, kind, and caring person they had ever met. They would also agree that she was not a fan of winter. Glenda always saw the good in people no matter who they were. She took delight in the simpler beauty that life has to offer; springtime trees and plants budding, animals, sunsets, starry nights. She enjoyed watching starfish and seals on the shoreline of Passamaquoddy Bay in Robbinston with her confidante and loving companion Ed Kokoszka, while they lived together there for many years. She was an avid reader with a desire to understand humanity and her own spirituality. She loved discussing philosophical, spiritual topics and just about anything else. Some may have called her "spacey" because she could envision and discuss topics that others were incapable of understanding. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed jokes, even if she missed the punchline.  Glenda is survived by her biggest and proudest accomplishments; her children, Mark Glanville, Scott Glanville, Vicky Hanson, and Dean Frank. She is also survived by her companion Ed Kokoszka, her siblings, Sharon Frierson of Eatonton, GA, Carole Chambers of Buford, GA, Rick Monson of Old Town, ME, Wayne Monson of Hermon, ME, as well as seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
