OPAL B. FIELDS

Presque Isle – Opal B. Fields, 91, wife of the late Stephen E. Fields, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, September 30, 2020 at a Presque Isle hospice facility. She was born May 3, 1929 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Ralph and Lulu (Jackson) Buzzell. She was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School, Class of 1949 and was married to Stephen E. Fields on July 10, 1953. Opal had been employed with the New England Telephone Company, Presque Isle as an operator and later worked in their construction department. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stella Chapter, Presque Isle, and enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fields was predeceased by her husband Stephen E. Fields on March 28, 2009; three sisters, Doris Parsons, Winnie Briggs, and Ruth O’Donnell. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Debra Fields of Santa Clara, CA, Alan and Donna Fields of Lake Wales, FL; two grandchildren, Morgan Fields of Brunswick, Briana Fields of Columbus, OH; one great grandchild, Ruby Fields of Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield with Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating.
