DIANNE M. EVERETT

Fort Fairfield – Dianne M. Everett, 67, wife of Paul Everett, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2020 at a Presque Isle hospice facility, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 6, 1952 in Houlton, the daughter of Arthur “Dick” and Annette (Hall) Sanford. Dianne was raised in Smyrna along with her 8 siblings, Judy, Karen, Larry, Wanda, Gary, Ricky, Cindy and Kevin.  She had been  employed by Irving Oil/Circle K serving at the Houlton, Fort Fairfield, and Presque Isle stores, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Dianne will be remembered as a very kind, loving and compassionate person who always went above and beyond to help people in need. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur “Dick” Sanford; a sister, Judy ; and her grandparents. Dianne is survived by her husband, Paul of Fort Fairfield; her mother, Annette of Houlton; two children, Jay McCready of New Hampshire and Jennifer McCready of Charlotte, NC; seven brothers and sisters and their spouses; Karen and Melvin Morrison of Dyer Brook, Larry Sanford and companion Nancy of Oakfield, Wanda and Jimmy Martin of Glenburn, Gary Sanford of Bridgewater, Ricky and Tracy Sanford of Houlton, Cindy and David Tarr Sr. of Oakfield, Kevin and Leone Sanford of Orient; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special friend who was like a sister, Gloria Sheffield of Presque Isle; and her very special dog that was by her side at all times, Cassey, affectionately called “Pumpkin” by Dianne. Special thanks to Dr. Espinosa, the staff of Jefferson Cary Cancer Clinic, Dr. David Jones, and the staff of House of Comfort. Friends called Saturday January 18, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Community Wesleyan Church, 9 Wesleyan Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service was conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bernard Brown and Kevin Jackins, co-officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held in the church reception area. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Everett to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
