Maine Attorney General Declares War on Christians’ Free Speech

   Maine Attorney General Janet Mills, a pro-death Democrat, is seeking to keep Lebanon, Maine pastor Brian Ingalls, 26, from standing within 50 feet of any Planned Parenthood abortuary in the State. The unprecedented move against the free speech of Christians, seeks to use the courts to legislate - a favorite tactic of communist Democrats - rather than go through the legislation or, in this case, amendment process since the freedom of speech is enumerated in both the U.S. and Maine Constitutions.

   Mills alleges in her lawsuit that Ingalls spoke too loudly on Oct. 23 about “murdering babies, aborted babies' blood and Jesus” while preaching outside of Planned Parenthood to the point that his pro-life pleas could be heard in the abortion mill where the murdering of babies was taking place.  According to christiannews.net, “She asserts that Ingalls didn't lower his voice enough that particular day after being approached by police and contends that his passionate preaching 'demonstrates his intent to interfere with the safe and effective delivery of health services at Planned Parenthood.’”

   The terms “safe,” and “health services” are misnomers since the primary service of Planned Parenthood is death - as in the death of unborn babies—which makes them a very unsafe and unhealthy place, especially if you’re the baby in question.

   The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, MI, is defending Ingalls, against the unprecedented charge by Attorney General Mills.

   “For reasons that can only be described as politically motivated, the Attorney General has transformed an unverified noise complaint by Planned Parenthood into a civil rights complaint against a young Christian pro-life advocate,” TMLC stated in a press release.

   Erin Kuenzig, TMLC’s trial counsel who successfully represented pro-life sidewalk counselors in Portland’s buffer zone case, commented on the Attorney General’s new lawsuit. “The Attorney General’s baseless pro-abortion tactic seeks to silence pro-life speech. Such biased action by a state’s chief law enforcement officer is not only unconstitutional, but it also corrupts the entire justice system.”

   Richard Thompson, TMLC’s President and Chief Counsel and a former prosecuting attorney, added: “The Attorney General’s actions in this case are a blatant abuse of her powers to aid the pro-abortion political establishment dominating the City of Portland.”

   While the state and federal Constitutions do not make mention of so-called “free speech zones,” Americans have tolerated their establishment over the years from presidential election debates to college campuses.  Mills is now attempting to expand the unlawful “free speech zone” in front of abortion mills from 39 feet to 50 feet from the building, even though a federal court recently struck down the city of Portland’s 39 foot buffer ordinance as unconstitutional.

   “If a 39-foot barrier is too far, then surely a 50-foot barrier will be. But in the end, I think this kind of madness should have a cost,” writes Michael Ware, from freedomoutpost.com.  “Ingalls, if successful, should bring a suit against Mills personally for persecution. Once it costs the unbeliever, maybe they will think twice about attacking believers.”
