BIDDEFORD DRUG ARREST
May 18, 2012 The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says John A. Elwell Sr., 49, of Biddeford was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated trafficking of marijuana, violating his bail conditions and possessing cocaine. Drug agents and Biddeford Police arrested Elwell in his apartment in the Thatcher Motel in Biddeford. Both agencies had been getting complaints of Elwell selling drugs in the city. Agents located about $600, ¼ pound of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine. Elwell's apartment is within 1000 feet of the St. James School and because of that, the charge was increased to aggravated. Elwell was out on bail for a previous domestic violence related charge. He now is back at the York County Jail and was scheduled to appear in court today.
