Athletic Hall of Fame
Fort Fairfield Journal, March 19, 2014
In a long awaited and much anticipated announcement, the creation of the Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame is underway with the inaugural class to be inducted on Thursday, July 17th, during this year’s Maine Potato Blossom Festival.
The mission of the Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize those individuals who, through their accomplishments, have brought pride and distinction to the school and community as either athletes, coaches, or contributors to the development and success of the Fort Fairfield High School Athletic program. Through recognizing the outstanding contributions of those involved in the athletic programs, it is hoped that this tradition will help instill and motivate future student-athletes to excellence. The creation of the Athletic Hall of Fame will also help strengthen the bond between school, community, and alumni.
The purpose of the Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize, preserve and honor athletes, coaches, and contributors associated with Fort Fairfield High School Athletics and to:
- Establish in our youth a motivating influence to excel in athletics as well as in community involvement.
- Encourage pride and promote good sportsmanship, scholarship and citizenship in our school and community.
- Promote the rich tradition of Fort Fairfield High School Athletics.
The Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame will consist of a 9 person committee. The initial committee shall be appointed by Directors of the Fort Fairfield Athletic Booster Club, that will also help fund this Athletic Hall of Fame. Committee membership will be comprised of the following:
- Athletic Administrator at Fort Fairfield High School
- Members of the Fort Fairfield High School coaching staff (3)
- Current Fort Fairfield High School Athletes (2)
- Community/At Large Members (3)

Each membership is a three-year appointment. All members enshrined in the Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame shall become members of an advisory committee. Members of the advisory committee shall be notified of meeting dates and times. They may offer suggestions and input, and shall have voting privileges.
