By: David Deschesne

Fort Fairfield Journal, May 30, 2012

FORT FAIRFIELD—A record-setting group of nearly fifty people attended the budget hearing and public vote on the 2012-2013 budget for School Administrative District #20 in Fort Fairfield on May 17. Normally, less than twenty citizens show up for the annual school budget meeting.

While all of Fort Fairfield’s voting citizenry was invited to attend, of those in attendance, approximately eighty-five percent were also employees of the school district thus virtually guaranteeing a predictable outcome.

All articles of the district’s $6.2 million budget were all passed by nearly unanimous consent of those present with no discussion or questions on any of the articles.
