BANGOR, Maine—The Central Aroostook Varsity Cheerleaders, from Mars Hill, recently won the Eastern Maine Class D Cheerleading competition, for the fifth consecutive year. The competition was held in Bangor.

“We have been working on this routine since the first week of December, but it has been changed many times,” said assistant coach, Janice Mosher. “We won’t be changing a lot, for the State competition, just a few little things here and there to clean it up.”

The State competition will be held February 11 in Augusta. CAHS will be competing at 10:00 a.m.

Mosher says the most difficult part if the routine has been where to place people. “There were only eight who competed at regionals so we had to put people in different spots then they were used to. We have fronts now as backs and even flyers as bases. The team never complained and only offered to try new things.”

Mosher feels confident the team will give another great performance and their chances look good. “We do realize the other teams will be working just as hard to come up with some point differences so we just need to continue to show facial and be confident.”

Also in attendance from Aroostook County were cheerleaders from Fort Fairfield, Washburn and Ashland.
