ANNA MARIE PUTNAM

 

Fort Fairfield – Anna Marie Putnam, 91, wife of the late Lewis S. Putnam, passed away Saturday morning, July 11, 2015 at a Caribou nursing facility following a period of declining health. She was born December 15, 1923 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of George S. “Solly” and Mary A. (Ayoob) Solomon. Anna was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1941 and a lifelong communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. She was married to Lewis S. Putnam on December 17, 1943 and had been employed at the former Depositor’s Trust Company, Fort Fairfield and the Fort Fairfield Public Library. She and Lewis had resided in Winter Park, FL for ten years, and Virginia Beach, VA for a number of years. Anna moved to Limestone following Lewis’ death in 2002 where she resided until 2013. She was a member of the Fort Fairfield Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle Number 427 and greatly enjoyed cooking, however, the most important things in Anna’s life were her family and faith. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband Lewis on July 26, 2002; one son, Tom Putnam; one brother, Joseph Solomon; one sister, Theresa Edgecomb; two sons-in-law, Jerome Webster and David Caldon. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, George and Pamela Putnam of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Mary Webster of Limestone and Susan Caldon of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Natalie Hackett of Caribou and Seaford, VA; seven grandchildren and spouses, Christopher and Heather Caldon of Virginia Beach, VA, James Caldon of Temecula, CA, Stephanie and Frank Michalik, Barbara Putnam, Chelsea Putnam, all of St. Louis, MO, Jennifer and Joseph Pinette of Limestone, Curtis Putnam of St. Louis, MO; eight great grandchildren, Delaney Caldon of Uma, AZ, Caitlin Caldon of Hawaii, Alexus Williamson of Fresno, CA, Noah Caldon of Virginia Beach, VA, Tom Pinette of Limestone, Timothy and Harley Caldon, both of Temecula, CA, Finn Michalik of St. Louis; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield with Fr. Kyle Doustou celebrant. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Charter Number 1753, 260 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Private interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Putnam to the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Home, 10 Bernadette Street, Caribou, Maine 04736.
