Senator Collins Caves In to Special Interest Groups by Upholding Obamacare

Health Insurance Rates Set to Rise Under Fascist Government Mandate

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA—In stalling a vote to repeal the unconstitutional Obamacare health insurance debacle, Senator Susan Collins has once again sided with the Democrats by opposing her own party.   Collins, who is supposed to be a Republican, has been the best friend Democrats have in the U.S. Senate by wreaking irreparable damage to conservative ideals the Republican party is desperately attempting to maintain amidst the insanity of Socialism that has been raging through the District of Columbia over the past five decades.  Indeed, it is a mystery why Republicans continually nominate her to campaign under their banner when she would seem to be more comfortable being affiliated with  socialist and communist Democrats.

While the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the Obamacare health insurance mandate is “legal,” thus forcing people via government coercion to purchase a product they do not want, it must also be remembered that court once ruled it was legal for white people to own black people as slaves.  The U.S. Constitution does not allow the U.S. government to legislate within a state (see Article 1, Sec. 8), much less allow it to force people to buy a product or service, and all federal laws that attempt to do so—such as the Federal Income Tax, Obamacare, background checks for firearms, etc.—are all functionally unlawful when enforced within a state.  Yet, the feds continue unabated in their unlawful activities against the inhabitants of the several States.

In support of her position, Senator Collins’ office released a list of three hundred special interest groups who support keeping the unlawful mandate in place.  Most of those listed financially benefit either directly from the health insurance ponzi scheme, or indirectly by representing people who do.

The “affordable” portion of the Obamacare law requires U.S. taxpayers to pay the monthly insurance premiums of those who are mandated by law to purchase it, but are financially unable to.  However, the U.S. taxpayers currently are suffering under an unpayable $20 trillion national debt which currently obligates every man, woman and child to $57,000 of that debt under the “full faith and credit” clause the U.S. Congress used to criminally indebt the entire U.S. population to.  In addition to untenable taxpayer funding, those who can afford to pay their own premiums are finding the rates increasing to exorbitant levels which is causing many to choose to drop their health insurance altogether and pay the cheaper—but yet still unlawful—IRS penalty for not having current health insurance.

According to research by Maine Governor, Paul Lepage's office, “In 2015, more than 34,000 Maine families chose to pay $15 million in fines, rather than pay for the increasing premiums and deductibles for coverage that did not meet the needs of their families.”

A Fort Fairfield woman claims her family had to stop buying health insurance because it got so expensive she had to resort to paying the IRS penalty because it was much cheaper.  “I'll just have to go to the hospital less and hope to be able to pay the bill when it comes due,” she said.  Meanwhile another Fort Fairfield inhabitant said his family's health insurance premiums increased to over $10,000 per year under Obamacare and he's not sure how much longer he'll be able to afford to pay the $1,000 per month bill.

“ObamaCare is continuing to implode and cause significant hardships for Maine’s people,” said Governor LePage. “The loss of yet another insurer on the exchange leaves Mainers with few alternatives to pay for healthcare. Even though ObamaCare is collapsing around them, Maine Senators Collins and King still refused to support a bill that would have sent 44 percent more healthcare funding to help struggling Mainers pay for health insurance. Instead of seeking national headlines, they should have been working to help the people who elected them.”

Anthem recently withdrew from Maine’s Affordable Care Act-compliant insurance marketplace for individual health insurance policies.  Harvard Pilgrim has announced it will stay in Maine’s marketplace for at least another year.

Meanwhile, health insurance rate payers in New Mexico are expecting to see their premiums double in price next year, with no end in sight to the exorbitant rate increases.

The “Affordable” Care Act, a/k/a Obamacare, was written by the health insurance industry in an effort to reduce their exposure and increase windfall profits.  Politicians then dutifully passed the legislation their corporate bosses demanded and continue to enforce it despite the fact that the Constitution they swore to uphold gives them no lawful jurisdiction to impose that law within any of the several states of the Union.
