Father Uses Gun to Defend His Home and Son from Intruder Fort Fairfield Journal September
30, 2013 ROME,
Maine—State Police say a man was shot to
death Saturday night in the town of Rome as he was attempting a home invasion.
Dead is 44 year old Christopher Dennison of Livermore Falls. Detectives
said Dennison, who was wearing a ski mask and brass knuckles, broke into a
mobile home on Foss Hill Lane occupied by a man and his teenage son about 8
p.m..
The homeowner, Richard Duffy, 48, shot Dennison after a brief
altercation with the intruder in the living room. An autopsy by the State
Medical Examiner’s Office showed Dennison died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Duffy and his son were not injured and there is no indication that
Duffy knew Dennison. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of
the shooting and no one has been charged. The case will also be reviewed by
the Maine Attorney General’s Office.
