Garrison Crowned 2012 Miss Mars Hill

Ellen Billings wins Little Miss

The Little Miss and Miss Mars Hill pageant was held last Saturday night at the Mars Hill Community Center.

There were seven contestants vying for the Little Miss Mars Hill title; Daisy Grant, Ellen Billings, McKenzie Green, Sarah Maillett, Emma Fletcher, Jacklynn Ramsey.

Sarah Maillett received 2nd runner-up. She performed a vocal solo to Our Song. Liberty Fulton received 1st runner-up. She performed a vocal solo to Stupid Cupid. Liberty also was recognized with high ticket sales for the Little Miss category.

Ellen Billings was the winner of the 2012 Little Miss Mars Hill pageant. She is the daughter of Bryant Billings and Julie Wilcox. She performed a gymnastics dance to Sold. As Little Miss, Ellen received $100, a sash, tiara and trophy.

Five ladies competed for the title of Miss Mars Hill at the same pageant; Mariah Brewer, Chelsea Stiggle, Lexie Brewer, Olivia Garrison and Tanika Klinger.

Mariah Brewer received 2nd runner-up and high ticket sales in the Miss Mars Hill category. She performed a vocal solo to God Help the Outcasts. Lexie Brewer received 1st runner-up. She performed a lyrical dance to Apologize.

Olivia Garrison was crowned the 2012 Miss Mars Hill. Olivia is the daughter of Gregg and Heidi Garrison. She performed a vocal solo to Suds in the Bucket. As winner, Olivia received $400, a banner, tiara and trophy.

This year’s pageants were once again produced by the Mars Hill Rotary Club. The Little Miss pageant was directed by Kassandra Dominique and Tracey Wright. The Miss pageant was directed by Mikala Wollard and Janine Stackpole.
